My mister and I are currently in the throes of shopping for our very first house, and goodness- we are chomping at the bit to find a space in which we can truly experiment with our style. We have been renting since we married two and a half years ago, and while it has been wonderful, we are ready to plant gardens and paint walls and really leave our mark on a place. (and get a puppy, who surely will leave marks of his own.... )
So, since our house dreams are still just in dream form, I thought it would be fun to share a handful of the images that have inspired our vision for this future abode.

Love it! It's so cozy and inviting. I think your multiple style disorder is called "eclectic"....and many suffer from it, including myself. It's the same disorder that keeps me from moving forward in my lower level...too many ideas and too many different looks. Any suggestions?

For the basement, you should pick out your top three favorite rooms that you've saved on pinterest and write out exactly what it is you love about them. Like you have mentioned before, I think you should also make a list of all the ways you would like the basement to function. Doing these two things will probably really help you pinpoint exactly what you want out of the space.

We saw a lot of that style of house in England; the thatched roof may be a problem in these parts though, but they are sharp, we saw some beautiful ones, works of art they were.
Yeah, Michigan's weather is probably a bit too severe for my dream house. I suppose we will just have to start house-hunting in England! oh darn =)
So we are all moving to England you say? LOL...can't leave home without us ya know. But I'm in - for the house in England or Ireland - that is.
Great suggestion on the trying to organize the ideas for the lower level. I think I'm going to start a pinterest board that is specifically for the lower level. I need to narrow down the color palette as well. Why is it so much easier to help others with their home?
